Our meeting in May will be with prostate cancer researcher and doctor, Stephen Strum.

Dr. Stephen Strum

SPECIALIZING IN PROSTATE CANCER RESEARCH

The coauthor of more than 100 research papers, books and articles devoted to prostate cancer, Dr. Strum has been devoted to uncovering the mystery surrounding this grave disease. In his video lecturek with us this coming May 13th, he will be discussing primarily his observations on Primary Intermittent Testosterone Deprivation.

PRIMARY INTERMITTENT TESTOSTERONE DEPRIVATION

Dr. Strum states that ADT is the only primary treatment that has a therapeutic effect on microscopic metastasis, the cancer cells that may have already spread outside the prostate. Unlike surgery and radiation, the side effects of ADT are generally reversible. Treatment with ADT suppresses cancer growth while opening up the possibility for future yet-to-be-discovered treatments that will be less toxic. He will review the importance of enhancing “Therapeutic Index” by understanding how the side effects of ADT can be minimized. He emphasizes the significance of reaching and maintaining a low PSA nadir.
